The Winery Wedding in November: Coquelicot Vineyard, Solvang CA
Inspiration A food inspired event, this reception boasted a rolling brigade of impressive stations, passed bites, and served items that went on throughout the night. Contemporary Catering pulled out all the tops with a family style menu that kept guests savoring bites for hours. A hanging Burrata Bar and live pasta station were dramatic additions to the night, and guests left on their busses to the after party with fresh sliders and french fries.
Design Family Style dinners can be great- but they require a certain amount of table real estate. To make sure we had statement-making centerpieces and enough room on the table for the nine separate and delicious dinner menu items, we decided to build up. 28 man (and woman)-hours and 36 4x4's later, the sixteen arbors took up an entire passenger van and weighed over 800 pounds...but a vision is a vision (and they looked fabulous!)
Highlights A touching moment when the bride teared up after seeing the magnificent surprise arrangement from florist Doyle Borden honoring her recently passed brother.
Rain- 18 months without a drop of rain and it poured the night before and all morning long.
Rainbow- right when the couple said I-do, a rainbow appeared in the sky bright as could be
Halloween Rehearsal Dinner- complete with costumes and a themed dinner at Hotel Corque
Halloween Rehearsal Masquerade- when we all walked from the hotel to the rehearsal location in costume. The bride was wonder women- she looked fantastic!
